National Archaeological Museum

On SATURDAY and SUNDAY reservation is required.

By reservation, schools can visit the Museum from 8.00.

Usually the Museum will be closed on Christmas and on the 1st of January, but there may be extraordinary openings decided by the Ministry. Please contact us if more information are required.

Free entrance, with a document attesting the following conditions:

- People under 18;
- Disabled EU citizens with one escort (Decreto Ministeriale n. 239 del 20 aprile 2006);
- Extra-EU citizens "under condition of reciprocity" (people under 12 must be accompanied);
- EU tourist guides with a valid license;
- EU interpreters with a valid license, when they are necessary together with a tourist guide;
- Ministry (Mibac) staff;
- I.C.O.M. members (International Council of Museums);
- By reservation, EU school groups with their teachers;
- Students of the Higher Education Ministerial Schools (Istituto Centrale per il Restauro, Opificio delle Pietre Dure, Scuola per il Restauro del Mosaico);
- Teachers and students of the EU academies of fine arts, after showing the certificate of enrollment for the current academic year;
- Teachers and students of the following EU university faculties (every degrees of university education): architecture, cultural heritage studies, educational or humanities with archaeological or arts studies.  Free entrance is allowed to students after showing the certificate of enrollment for the current academic year, to teachers after showing a valid document;
- Journalists, after showing a valid document (vedi DD del 7/09/2016 DG-Musei);
- per motivi di studio, ricerca attestate da Istituzioni scolastiche o universitarie, da accademie, da istituti di ricerca e di cultura italiani o stranieri, nonchè da organi del Ministero, ovvero per particolari e motivate esigenze i Capi degli Istituti possono consentire l'ingresso gratuito nelle sedi espositive di propria competenza e per periodi determinati a coloro che ne facciano richiesta;
- For the italian teaching staff the entrance is free in every archaeological areas or museums of the State. They can also visit the temporary exhibitions, since the Ministry (Mibac) has joined that initiative, by using dedicated vouchers available on cartadeldocente.istruzione.it, active starting from the 30th November 2016 (vedi circolare n.77/2016 DG-Musei);
- Volunteers who collaborate with the Ministry through conventions;
- Inspectors and Honorary Conservatives of the Ministry;
- Carabinieri of the Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage;
- I.C.C.R.O.M. members;
- Italian and international scholars with specific conventions (DM 239 /2006)

PRICES

• Full price: 5€ - individual visitors aged 18 and over

• Reduced: 4€ - group visitors (minimum 15 people) from 18 years old

• Free for: Children under 18; Classes of students on educational visits up to secondary school, including accompanying teachers; Disabled visitors upon presentation of the disability certificate at the ticket office. In case of non-self-sufficiency, the gratuity is also extended to a companion; Journalists; Tour Guides and Tour Leaders; 1 accompanying person per group; ICOMOS and ICOM Members; Residents in Aquileia.

RESERVATIONS FOR GROUPS 

For groups (minimum 15 people) the booking of the visit can only be made online through the following link: www.midaticket.it/prenotazione-tito-macro. Reservations must be sent at least 5 days before the chosen date in order to receive confirmation or any modification of the request forwarded. In addition, the maximum number of participants for each group is 50 people, including guides and companions. Once you have received your booking confirmation by email, you can pick up your tickets directly at the Bookshop ticket office of the Basilica of Aquileia in Piazza Capitolo, 4. 

We remind you that the collection can be made up to 30 minutes before the closing time of the ticket office. For any additional information or need when filling out the online booking form write to: prenotazione.basilica@gmail.com

In case of non-reservation, it will be possible to check on the day of the visit the possible availability of entrances, at the Bookshop in Piazza Capitolo 4. In this way, however, it will not be possible to guarantee the group's access to the Domus.

The ticket allow the entrance to the Basilica with the Crypt of Frescoes, the Northern Teodorian Hall (Crypt of Excavations), the Baptistery with the Cromatian Hall (Südhalle), the Campanile and the "Domus and Bishop's Palace"

The ticket office closes 15 min before the closing time.
